In autumn, when the leaves turn colourful, the heat of summer fades and the main holiday season is over, you will experience a particularly beautiful time in the Alpe Adria region. Further excursion tips in the surrounding area
Visit the provincial capital of Klagenfurt – the magnificent old town is an absolute highlight and is called the ‘Renaissance jewel on Lake Wörthersee’ or the Pyramidenkogel – at 900 m it is the highest wooden observation tower in the world (25 km) or travel to Slovenia to the spa town of Bled (66 km) – with its glacial lake and a castle from the 11th century very worth seeing or travel to Italy to the harbour town of Trieste and visit Miramar Castle.
