Supervised fun and games for children of all ages
The prospects for a relaxing holiday at our hotel in Carinthia are excellent, not just because of the beautiful Wörthersee-views from all the rooms but also thanks to the hotel’s ethos: we believe that, whether the aim is an active holiday for all the family or simply to relax for once, holidays should be a genuine change of routine for parents, too. Our hotel with its childcare takes this very seriously and shows boredom the red card when it comes to your children’s activities: the free and flexible activities range from football tournaments and organised games in the extensive hotel grounds to fun in the water and action on the tennis courts – and all under professional supervision.
For all children over the age of seven, qualified sports coaches organise plenty of fun and action in the afternoons in the enclosed 40,000 m² hotel grounds, on the private beach or, in bad weather, in the indoor pool. Your offspring can do whatever interests them, free of charge: exciting activities such as an architectural treasure hunt, fast and furious pedalo races, ball games of all kinds, football tournaments and professionally-led archery sessions are all on offer. Even our youngest guests are cared for by nursery nurses in the hotel crèche. We also have a play fort, table-tennis table, goalposts, a slackline and three tennis courts in our grounds. On the private beach there are pedalo boats, rowing boats and stand-up paddleboards, as well as a sand-pit.
Treasure hunt – a game to keep young minds busy
Whatever you think about children using smartphones, at least here they are used productively as a means to an end. The smartphone is used for scanning QR codes which is an essential part of the treasure hunt. The children look for architectural touchpoints in the hotel and its grounds which accurately reflect the unique 1960s style of the Parkhotel Pörtschach. The children are led by GPS and QR codes to original design features such as various lamps or the staircase in the lobby and can collect points for which, of course, they are rewarded. Huge fun for young and old alike – and adults are warmly invited to join in, too!
